Scanning multiple pages into one PDF is a daily task for anyone dealing with paper documents — contracts, forms, receipts, ID documents, and reports all need to arrive as a single cohesive file rather than a pile of individual images. Here's how to do it on any device.

Scanning Multiple Pages to PDF on iPhone
iPhone's built-in scanner in the Notes app handles multi-page scanning natively. Open Notes, create a new note, tap the camera icon, and select Scan Documents. After capturing the first page, the scanner stays active — position the phone over the next page and it captures automatically. Continue until all pages are scanned, then tap Save. All pages are combined into a single PDF attachment in the note.
Tap the scan in the note, then tap the Share button and select Save to Files to export the multi-page PDF to iCloud Drive or your device storage.

Scanning Multiple Pages to PDF on Android
Google Drive's built-in scanner is the most convenient option on Android. Open the Drive app, tap the + button, and select Scan. Capture the first page, then tap the + icon in the bottom-left corner of the preview to add another page. Repeat for all pages. When done, tap the checkmark and save — Google Drive saves the scan as a multi-page PDF directly to your Drive.
Microsoft Lens (free on Android) is another strong option, particularly for documents with mixed page orientations or pages that need perspective correction. It exports directly to PDF, Word, or your device gallery, and handles multi-page scans cleanly.
Scanning Multiple Pages on a Flatbed or Feeder Scanner
Desktop scanners with automatic document feeders (ADF) are the fastest option for multi-page documents. Place the stack face-up in the feeder tray, open your scanner software, and select the option to scan to PDF or scan all pages. The scanner feeds each page automatically and combines the output into a single PDF file.
For flatbed scanners without a feeder, scan each page individually and save as separate files. Then use WukongPDF's Merge PDF tool to combine all the pages into one document — upload the individual scans in order and download the merged file.
Combining Existing Scans Into One PDF
If you've already scanned pages as individual files — either as separate PDFs or as images — combining them after the fact is straightforward. For image files like JPEG or PNG, use WukongPDF's Image to PDF tool to upload all the images at once, arrange them in order, and download the combined PDF.
For separate PDF files from individual scans, use the Merge PDF tool instead. Upload all the single-page PDFs, drag to set the correct page order, and merge. Both tools handle the job in under a minute regardless of how many pages you're combining.
Making the Multi-Page PDF Searchable
Scanned PDFs — whether from a phone or a flatbed scanner — are image-based by default. The text is visible but not searchable or selectable. For documents you'll need to reference, search, or copy text from later, run the combined PDF through an OCR tool after merging. WukongPDF's OCR feature processes the entire multi-page document at once and adds a searchable text layer to every page.
