Merging PDFs on iPhone is something most people don't realize their phone can do natively — and for those cases where it can't, a browser tool handles it in under a minute. Here's how to get a combined PDF without installing any extra apps.

How to Merge PDFs Using the Files App on iPhone
iOS 16 and later added PDF merging directly into the Files app. Open Files and navigate to the folder containing your PDFs. Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner and select Select. Tap each PDF you want to combine, then tap the three-dot menu again and choose Create PDF. iOS merges the selected files into a new PDF in the same folder, in the order you selected them.
This is the fastest method for iPhone users on iOS 16 and above — no browser needed, no uploads, and the result lands immediately in Files. The main limitation is that it only works with PDFs already stored in Files or iCloud Drive, not with PDFs attached to emails or messages.

How to Merge PDFs on iPhone Using Safari
For older iOS versions or when you need more control over page order, WukongPDF's Merge PDF tool works smoothly in Safari. Open the tool, tap to upload your PDFs — you can select multiple files from Files or iCloud Drive in one go. Drag the thumbnails to arrange the order, then tap Merge and save the result to Files.
The browser method also handles PDFs from different sources — you can upload files that are in your Downloads folder, in iCloud Drive, or even ones you've just received as email attachments by saving them to Files first.
Controlling the Page Order When Merging
The Files app merges PDFs in the order you tap them during selection — so tap the files in the sequence you want them to appear in the final document. If you tap them in the wrong order, the only fix is to delete the merged file and start again.
The Merge PDF tool in Safari lets you drag thumbnails after uploading, which makes reordering much easier — particularly when combining several files where the right sequence matters, like chapters of a report or pages of a contract.
Merging PDFs Sent as Email Attachments on iPhone
If the PDFs you need to merge arrived as email attachments, save them to Files first. In Mail, tap and hold the attachment, then tap Save to Files and choose a folder. Repeat for each attachment. Once all files are in Files, use either the Files app method or WukongPDF's Merge PDF tool to combine them.
After merging, the combined PDF can be shared directly from Files by tapping and holding the file and selecting Share. You can send it back by email, via AirDrop, or upload it to any cloud storage service connected to your iPhone.
