How to Convert JPG to PDF on iPhone

iPhone has built-in ways to convert photos to PDF without downloading any app. Whether you have one image or a stack of photos to combine, the process takes under a minute entirely within iOS.

How to Convert JPG to PDF on iPhone

Method 1: The Files App (One Photo or Multiple)

Open the Photos app and select the image or images you want to convert. Tap the Share button (the square with an upward arrow). In the share sheet, scroll down and tap "Print." On the print preview screen, use a pinch-to-zoom gesture on the preview โ€” spread two fingers apart on the preview image. This opens the image as a full PDF preview. Tap the Share button again from this screen and choose "Save to Files" to save it as a PDF.

For multiple photos: select all the images first in Photos (tap Select, then tap each photo), then follow the same Print โ†’ pinch-to-zoom โ†’ Save to Files flow. Each selected photo becomes one page in the resulting PDF, in the order you selected them.

Method 2: Create PDF in Files App Directly

If the photos are already saved to your Files app (not just Photos), there's a more direct path. Open the Files app, navigate to the image file, tap and hold it to bring up the context menu, and look for "Create PDF." If the option appears, it converts the image to PDF immediately in the same folder. This works for single images and is faster than the Print method.

Not all iOS versions show this option for every file type โ€” if you don't see "Create PDF" in the context menu, use the Print method instead.

Method 3: Browser-Based Tool in Safari

When you need to convert multiple photos into a single PDF with more control over page size and order, open Safari and use a browser-based Image to PDF tool. Upload your photos from the Photos app or Files app, arrange the order by dragging thumbnails, set the page size if needed, and download the combined PDF. This saves directly to your Files app.

WukongPDF's image-to-PDF tool works in Safari without any app installation. It's the best option when you have many photos to combine or want to control exactly how they appear on each page.

Method 4: Scan Document Feature in Notes

If you're photographing physical documents rather than converting existing photos, the Notes app's document scanner is worth using instead. Open Notes, create a new note, tap the camera icon above the keyboard, and choose "Scan Documents." The scanner uses the camera with automatic edge detection and perspective correction, producing cleaner scans than a regular photo. Once scanned, tap the Share icon in the note and choose "Send a Copy" โ†’ PDF.

Finding the Saved PDF

PDFs saved through the Print โ†’ pinch zoom โ†’ Save to Files method land in the Files app, typically in iCloud Drive or On My iPhone depending on where you directed them. Open the Files app and check Recent to find it quickly, or navigate to the folder you saved it in. From Files you can share it via email, AirDrop, or any other app directly.
